SATHI works on health rights issues, through partnerships with civil society organizations, and facilitates advocacy at the local, district, state and national levels. Adopting a rights based approach, SATHI works towards promoting the perspective that instead of substituting for public systems or replacing them, it is essential to make these systems accountable and effective through organised and sustained public actions.
Our Vision
We dream of a society which has realised its right to health and health care; a society which has eliminated health inequities and structural barriers that prevent people from accessing healthy living conditions and quality health care; where people are not appendages of the healthcare system; but are its prime movers and have universal access to health care as a human right.
Our Mission
To contribute to the building of the movement for ‘Health For All’ through collective action and research. In collaboration with like-minded organisations, we will work towards the achieving the right to health care and equity-based universal healthcare for all Indians.
Our Strategies
- Partnerships and multi-level advocacy – SATHI works on health rights issues, through partnerships with civil society organisations, and facilitates advocacy at the local, district, state and national levels.
- Community-level interventions- SATHI’s emphasis on community-level interventions stems from its belief that the most lucid analysis of social problems comes from those who are directly affected by them.
- Action oriented Research- A major part of SATHI’s work consists of action projects. However, right from its inception SATHI has also been involved in systematic action-oriented research, basically research which culminates into focused advocacy and action.
