\n\t\t\t\t\tSATHI is one of the pioneering organisations in India, which adopted a Rights based approach to build the discourse around Right to Healthcare. Hence, right from its inception, SATHI has focused on developing community-based accountability processes which lead to increased ownership of community towards Public Health facilities as well as increased responsiveness of service providers.\n\nOver the past two decades, SATHI has successfully collaborated with more than 50 civil society organisations in Maharashtra on health rights issues. Using a right based approach, it has facilitated action and policy advocacy at local, district, state and national level.\n\n

SATHI has been working as the \u2018State Nodal NGO\u2019 for implementation of community-based monitoring and planning of health services, as part of national health mission, since 2008. Community- based Monitoring and Planning of health services in Maharashtra, India, represents an innovative participatory approach to improving accountability and health care delivery. The learnings from this could possibly inform \u201ccommunitisation\u201d of health services in diverse contexts, as an alternative to privatisation and as a means to enhancing the \u201cpublicness\u201d of health services. CBMP has as a process, deepened democracy, leading to increased accountability, created several forums for spaces for dialogues among stakeholders and systematic data collection on health indicators. Drawing from these learnings, the community led processes like decentralised health planning and Social Audit of Public Services (Multi-sectoral)\u2019 have emerged as an innovative process.\n\n

The public health program related work has been done in collaboration with national and international organisations such as World Health Organisation, Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives, American University-Accountability Research Centre, and International Budget Partnership.\n\nSATHI has developed the wide range of resource material including training modules, booklets, leaflets, analytical documents, policy advocacy reports and flyers, for developing capacities of community for monitoring and strengthening public healthcare services.<\/span>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
